Hi! Welcome to my blog! I am trying out professional cross-country skiing this year, and I am excited to share what this looks like with all of you.

I moved to Anchorage, AK in June of this year to ski for Alaska Pacific University (APU). I am so excited to be here and training with many of the best skiers in the country. I live in a house with two awesome APU teammates, Katey and Annie. Along with training, I work part-time at a physical therapy clinic, where I am learning the ins and outs of running a healthcare-based business. I really enjoy working with the incredible physical therapists here-it is so cool to be involved with an organization that helps people enjoy all the great AK activities.
I am from Bristol, a small town nestled in the green hills of Vermont. I grew up loving the outdoors in my home state: downhill skiing every weekend, running on the Long Trail, and building leaf piles, and enjoying quiet walks through my small town. I finally learned to nordic ski in 9th grade on my high school team. I went on to join Mansfield Nordic Club and then made my way to college skiing at Bowdoin College in Maine. Along with skiing at Bowdoin, I studied molecular biology and took some of the coolest classes ever (I got to dissect a chicken embryo once!). Bowdoin holds a special place in my heart; I truly believe the ski team and overall community is unmatched in character and love.
I graduated from Bowdoin in May of this year, and in the blink of an eye I feel (mostly) settled into this new and very different lifestyle. I hope to post some blogs that help to keep people updated on my life here. Nordic skiing is a unique and awesome sport, so thank you for taking the time to learn some more about my place in it!
